Camp Description: Do you love creative writing? Do you play an instrument? Do you like performing? Maybe you've never written a song or played an instrument, but think it would be fun to try? This camp is for anyone interested in writing songs, prior experience welcome, but not necessary!

We will explore creative expression through fun writing games and prompts, piano, guitar, and ukulele tutorials, vocal coaching, and group collaboration. You will learn how to craft song lyrics and set music to your words. Come express yourself through song - write lyrics, learn how to play chords and accompany yourself on an instrument. You will have the opportunity to learn how to play ukulele, guitar, and piano. There will be instruments available to play, or you can bring your own from home.

The week long experience will culminate in a performance on the last day of camp. Learn how songwriters like Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodriguez do what they do!

Teacher Bio: Serenity Fisher teaches piano lessons to many young aspiring songwriters in the Cincinnati area. She is also the front woman for nationally touring indie dream-pop band Serenity Fisher and the Cardboard Hearts. A wordsmith, Serenity Fisher entices stories into becoming songs using truth-telling, highly-visual lyrics, and dreamy melodies. Fisher is a powerhouse singer whose nuanced vocals vary from bluesy belt to sultry whisper, from technical prowess to stripped down raw emotion. Her piano style is theatrical and passionate. Her music has been compared to Regina Spektor, Tori Amos and Fiona Apple.
